We have nine birdboxes to give away, thanks to workers at the Toureen Company who built them for us. Now is the time to put them up, so that birds can investigate them over the autumn and winter and then perhaps move in in the spring.
All have metal hole protectors to prevent squirrels and woodpeckers enlarging the hole and taking chicks. Two have 32mm holes, suitable for great tits and sparrows. Seven have 25mm holes, suitable for blue and coal tits.
