Join us in Harrow’s nature reserves and wild open spaces as we work to improve the sites for nature and people. You will be joining a friendly bunch of wildlife enthusiasts in lovely surroundings.
We need people who will:
- Join in working parties to maintain and improve the sites. Jobs are very varied but include raking cut grass, clearing fallen trees from paths, sowing wildflower seeds, pulling up invasive non-natives, cutting back bramble, digging ponds and creating leaky dams on streams. The working parties are listed here.
- Join the warden team on a site. Being a warden need not be particularly timeconsuming but it means taking responsibility: learning about the topology of and nature on a site, discussing management with Harrow Council and other experts, then deciding what needs to be done and leading teams to do it.
- Carry out recording and surveying, both one-off recording of species occurrence, and formal surveying to determine the ecological status of a site. We will arrange training as needed.
